Apps/SaaS I Find Useful (as found on iOS):

  • Google Calendar - without it, I don't know where I'm supposed to be at.
  • Acuity Scheduling - Ever have to do the back and forths to get something scheduled? With Acuity I let them pick a date and time that works best for them. I've used this for business meetings, Zoom calls, interviews, and more.
  • Notion.so - Notion is the new Evernote. So cool with so much functionality.
  • ChatGPT - You can ask it to come up with sales copy, write that email, create proposals, and so much more.
  • TED - Need positive in your brain? Pull up a recent Ted Talk.
  • HubSpot - When I need to take care of my customers, prospects, and opportunities through the best CRM out there.
  • Circle - I belong to some communities that are hosted on Circle. So easy to have everyone together in the same place.
  • Google Earth - I use Google Earth to look at and analyze properties we're interested in bidding on.
  • Waze - Need to skip the traffic? Looking to avoid the speed traps? Waze is it!
  • Gmail - Basic but it works. Personal and Business email tied into the same place? Love it!

Other Resources:

  • Answer The Public - need help in figuring what's important to others? Old classic with new features.
  • CPI-W through the Bureau of Labor Statistics - we use this to help us determine where wages could be at in 3-6-12 months and factor that into average wages that we calculate through Indeed. So if the average wage is $20 and costs of goods for our employees increase by 4 over the next 6 months, then we'll bump up wages 4% more, and obviously more in our proposals, so we can keep ahead of any demand in raises. It's better than being caught by surprise.
  • SCORE - Service Corps of Retired Executives is a non-profit built around you and your business. They provide mentors to help you and your business grow.
  • LinkedIn and Seamless - get access to emails from anyone listed on LinkedIn. Great for when you need that next email marketing campaign. Voila Norbert is a runner up to this category, but I haven't fully explored it.
  • SBDC - The Small Business Development Center is fantastic at providing resources and training at the local level. I've attended a few seminars hosted by them and the resources were amazing.
  • 99Designs - Such a cool service. 99Designs helps you with your designs like brochures, websites, logos, and more. You create a campaign and your payment is held in escrow. In the meantime up to dozens of designers will begin working on your project, not just one. Contests are created for you and your tribe and you can share links to get feedback on designs concepts that are created for you and others can vote for their favorite and they can even provide commented feedback. Designers incorporate those changes. After 2-3 rounds of this, you are asked to pick your favorite and the files are yours. It's not cheap, but the quality is very high.
  • Fiverr - Sticking with the designs, Fiverr taps into freelancers to help you with anything you need. I've used Fiverr to create blog posts (pre-AI), logos, T-shirt designs, car wrap designs, lead lists, SEO, book covers, podcast art covers, audio design, YouTube videos, gimmicky videos for friends, and so much more. In my experience, 50% of what was posted was terrible. 50% was stellar. But it's a low-cost option that's worth the risk.
  • HubSpot Academy - This is an incredible resource...and it's FREE. HubSpot CRM hosts a site with video trainings on different aspects around marketing for your business. Need help learning about Email Marketing? Done. Need help learning SEO? They have you covered. Need to learn Social Media Marketing? Boom! You even get certificates of completion. I met a speaker one year at Social Media Marketing World who pulls in 6-figures annually just by watching these courses, rehashing what he learned, and gives credit back to HubSpot. Get  paid to learn!
  • Canva - They've come a very long way. I started using them shortly after they were launched and the experience was dismal at best. But each time I visit them over the years I've starkly noticed improvements and adjustments. Great product (yes, I remember when it was 100% free).
