Ultimate Lead Guide - An Introduction

finding leads Aug 23, 2023

Over the next few months, I'll drip out new content on leads. In my coaching, I'm always asked about finding leads. It's never been an issue for us. Either they contacted us or us to them. We never ran out of leads. Once you find those leads, you have to market to them. If you market to them, you'll get asked for a proposal. More proposals means more clients. Finding Leads is that first step in your sales funnels. Marketing to them is the second step (Check out the Winning Through Marketing series).

I compare finding leads with fishing. I grew up on South Lake in Titusville, FL and went fishing all the time. Yea, I had to avoid the swarms of mosquitos, the overly friendly alligators and the occasional venomous water moccasin but it was worth it. That next cast could bring in a big one. I'd stay out there all day and all night and it was worth it! 99% of the time I failed to catch anything. But I only cared about the 1%.

Well, leads are the same way. Take a drive around. How many properties do you see? Those are all potential leads. Are phone books still around? Well, they're probably replaced by Google Maps. How many properties do you see on Google Maps? Hundreds? Thousands? They all can be leads.

Like with fishing, you won't win 100%. You'd be lucky if you can catch 1% of them. But if you put in the work, and prequalify them properly, each one you win can bring you in thousands or even hundreds of thousands in annual revenue per year, depending on your goals.

Keep an eye out. I'll do a deep dive on a niche by niche basis and will slowly drip these out.
